Tricia and I are thrilled you have chosen to link with us on the Weekly Wrap.  If you link early, please make sure you come back later in the week and check some of the other posts.  Our simple tip to the newcomers for making this linkup work for you:  the more you interact with others, the more they will interact with you.  We hope you'll find the connections, support and motivation you've been searching for right here!

I don't really have anything worthy of a post this week.  When looking at time, riding the Century distance last weekend was along the lines of an ultra event.  Although not so hard on the body (other than slight bruising in the sit bone area, I had no evidence) my heart rate was in its aerobic zone all.day.long.  I respected that and gave this aging body some extra days off.

Welcome, October.  I found this cute ghost on Saturday's ride.

I posted my Dam Century Recap earlier this week and have linked it below.  It would mean the world to me if you'd check that out, if you haven't already.

I know the Fall racing season is in full swing and I'm looking forward to reading what you've been up to!

And that's a wrap!

  1. What a ride! The Dam is beautiful and you certainly get extra bad-assery points for the storm. What an epic thing to do!

    1. No. Sorry, I confused you. It just worked the day of the ride (and it took all DAM day) in an aerobic capacity.

  7. Again, the century ride with Teresa looks so fun (despite the hard work involved). I'd be up for a century ride...someday. Geesh, I have about 1,000,000 miles of training awaiting me (and a very sore tush) if that ever becomes a reality...(don't hold your breath) ;-)

    1. With the right gear, the tush will hold up just fine! LOL

  20. Recovery is the smartest thing you could do this week! You'll be able to absorb all that hard work and repair those muscles and come back even stronger. Most of the times I've gotten injured have been when I jump back into training too soon after a hard workout.

    1. I think not jumping back in quickly is one of the hardest things to do. It takes a world of restraint for me.

  21. After your ride, you more than earned your week of rest. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

  22. So glad that you are recovering after the epic century ride!

I laughed a little at the inflatable ghost that you saw on Saturday's ride. I think I would be so scared if I ran or rode by that at night lol

  26. So glad to hear you're taking a bit of extra time off! I understand what it's like to have your heart rate working at a higher rate than normal. I hope you're feeling better! And Congratulations on your Century Ride! heading over to your recap right now!

    1. It wasn't that my HR was too high, it just stayed there all day because it took all day to complete the ride. It was almost double what a marathon time would be for me. So, I thought rest was in order.

  27. Your century ride is an incredible feat :)
The dam is really pretty but looks intimidating to ride over!! Although heights do not scare me, being on bike has a different fear factor for me. I don't like ditches next to me, cars, I get wigged really easy.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The worst thing about the DAM was that it is located in town so there was a lot of traffic with us when we crossed it both times. I have to say, most cars were respectful.

  28. Happy October! Nice Halloween decor during your ride. It's amazing how some people go all out for Halloween, especially in some near neighborhoods near us. So fun to see!
